A Notice giving the objects of proposed pastoral reorganisation affecting this parish has been displayed near the main door and on the Church of England website. The Notice includes the last date by which representations regarding the proposed reorganisation may be made to the Church Commissioners.
SUMMARY OF MAIN PROVISIONS OF DRAFT SCHEME (NOT PART OF THE DRAFT SCHEME)
This draft Scheme provides for:
the union of the benefice and parish of Luton, and the benefice and parish of Saint Matthew, High Town Luton;
the appointment of the first incumbent; for his parsonage house to be that of the benefice of Luton; and for the future patronage arrangements for the new benefice;
the transfer of the parsonage house of the benefice of, Saint Matthew, High Town Luton to be transferred to the St Albans Diocesan Board of Finance for diocesan purposes; and
the church of Saint Matthew, in the parish of Saint Matthew, High Town Luton to be closed for regular public worship;
all in the diocese of Saint Albans.
